My guide to big voluminous hair without backcombing..

Introducing the John Frieda Luxurious Volume range..

Firstly I think you guys should get a little background into my hair, my hair is very long and rather thick and "heavy" which means backcombing my hair is a waste of time because it's heavy no hairspray seems to hold it in place.

Now everyone loves/wants some volume in their hair to give it some shape and body and that's where these particular products come in...firstly I wash my hair with John Frieda thickening shampoo to make my hair more thicker/fuller then I'll gently towel dry my hair and then use the thickening mousse, shake well and distribute some product into the palm of your hand, rub together and starting from root to tip distribute the mousse through your hair.

What I then use is the blow dry lotion, I spritz some under the back of my hair at the sides underneath and then at the top of my hair..don't forget to spray at the roots! Now it's time to blow dry your hair, I use a diffuser and a soft round brush lifting hair at the roots (refer to John Frieda Youtube video here on for step by step guide).

Then after the hair is fully dried you WILL notice a difference in how huge your hair is, if you have naturally straight hair then even better as you don't have to do anything with it. Now for me, I have a big mop of hair to tackle so I have to straighten it. After I straighten it I then use 4 velcro rollers at the crown of my head to give it some extra body, If I was to go out on a night out then I'd cover my head in med-large rollers but it isn't necessary for daytime and would be time consuming.

Lastly...take the rollers out and embrace the volume and finish it off with a spray of thickening hairspray to maintain your volume all day.

How I do my brows...

Firstly, apologies for the picture..I'm the most un-photogenic person in the world and took me loads of shots to try and get a decent picture. In the end I gave up.

This picture should give you a decent view of my brows, I always shied away from a strong brow until recently when I went to The Clothes Show Live back in December. If you've ever been then you'll know theres lots of different clothing/beauty stalls set up. There was a stall set up which were selling eyebrow stencil kits, now I can't for the life of me remember what this particular brand was named but the lady asked if I would like my brows done so I agreed.

I hopped off the chair and was given a mirror to look at my newly transformed brows and boy was it a transformation, groomed neat brows make your face look so much better. I was happy with the results so I handed my £20 note over. I think the set came with 3 stencils; natural, thin and thick..I use the "thick" stencil which gives me a lovely shape.

If your after a really strong, groomed brow then I'd definitely look into some eyebrow stencil kits (I'm sure there's cheaper alternatives out there) preferably with powder as I find it gives you more of a stronger colour than a pencil gives you.

Lauren's Way glam tan review

If you know me or read my blog you will know I'm a big big fan of fake tan, infact I can't remember the last time I went out baring my horrible pale pasty skin (not saying pale is horrible but I don't like to be pale myself)

So back in December I went along to The Clothes Show Live and knew Lauren's Way stand was going to be there and that Lauren added some more tan to her collection. I already reviewed Lauren's Way lotion here and wanted to try Glam Tan to see how it would compare.

And how did it compare? Well let me tell you this tan is a-m-a-z-i-n-g (see pic of legs above, excuse the shoddy application on my foot).

Application: Spray some of the Glam Tan onto a mitt and watch it glide effortlessly over your skin whilst rubbing it in. Overall the tan took no longer than 10mins for a full body application and you start to see the guide colour develop instantly into a lovely golden olive tone. What I do is apply it twice for an even deeper colour but you don't have to if you just like a hint of colour.

The best time to apply fake tan is bed time (don't be afraid, your white sheets will be totally stain free) so you can let the tan do it's magic. In the morning have a shower to wash off the guide colour, don't worry the tan won't completely wash away down the plug hole but instead you will have a golden olive (fake) tan ;)

Anyone tried? What's your thoughts?

Would I recommend? Hell yeah.

I love lipsticks, most of my collection is made up of big bright bold colours. Now I don't usually sway towards the drugstore counters when I'm after a show stopping colour but after seeing this on a few blogs I knew I had to have it (Ok Cheryl Cole on the packaging influenced me too) plus I didn't have a nice red in my collection either.

So I eyed up the L'oreal stands in Superdrug as there was £2 off and it wasn't there, but I did find it in Boots at the original price which I think is expensive for a drugstore product.

I'm happy with finding my perfect red lipstick, the formula is perfect..creamy and moisturising on the lips . Will you be doing your bit for charity if you haven't already done so?

Haircare routine for long/thick hair

Hey guys so just a quick post on my haircare routine and how I keep it in excellent condition.

Picture of my hair so you can get a picture of the length etc, I'm 2nd from the left.

And now onto the products I use...

001. Coconut Oil I use this as a deep treatment before washing, what I do is stick the bottle in boiling water to make sure it's melted and turned into oil which then I can distribute is through the ends of my hair (bottom of the ears downwards) you can leave this on for as long as you like.

002. Shampoo you can use any Shampoo of your choice, when I skip the Coconut Oil treatment when I'm being lazy I like to use Kerastase Bain De Force (review here)

003. VO5 Miracle Concentrate just a intensive leave-in treatment I work through the lengths of my wet hair, again avoiding the roots. I love this product makes my hair super soft and shiney and adds nourishment.

004. Tangle Teezer plastic brush that looks like something you'd brush your barbie dolls hair with. It's not any old brush though it detangles your hair like magic, not that mine really gets tangled but after it's been washed/wet it's just so easier to brush. No more snagging at your head

005. VO5 Heat Protectant again, you can use any brand you wish but this is my favourite one at the moment. I always use a heat protectant without fail every time I blow dry or straighten my hair to protect my locks from heat damage etc

Appliances I use: | Hairdryer | Avoid blow drying my hair at all costs, I hate blow drying my hair so usually avoid this by all costs. Obviously if I'm in a rush or generally being lazy then I will use it.

| Straighteners | I use Cloud Nine Wide Iron, I am SOO grateful when Cloud Nine sent me these for review purposes. Choosing your own temperature on a straightener is a must..I use setting 175. The GHDs quickly got packed in their box and now live at the bottom of the wardrobe and haven't seen daylight for over a year.

And that's how I keep my hair in excellent, split end free condition :)

Hey lovelies another skin care post I know but anyway, I'm sure some of you are aware of Melvita if not then here's a little background on the brand...

As a beauty blogger I'm always keen to try new products whether they've been sent to me or I've stumbled upon great reviews on different blogs.

This time it was a bit of both...I'm sure you are all (UK people) familiar with the programme Made In Chelsea, personally I've never watched it but I stumbled across Millie Mackintosh's blog and noticed she wrote up a post on her day to day skin care routine which can be found here.

Anyway to cut a long story short I found out she used this particular cleanser, I'm a fan of foaming cleansers as I feel they clean my skin more thoroughly. I use this in conjunction with my Clarisonic, (review here) I wet my face and put 2 pumps onto the brush head and let the Clarisonic do the work. My skin feels extremely soft to touch after use, skin feels thoroughly cleansed. I really like this cleanser and would recommend trying it out, if like me a skin care junkie.

Hey lovelies, if you follow me on Twitter then you should know that I tweeted for some recommendations for congested skin (chin area). The lovely Emma from computergirls blog did give me some tips but I decided to continue using this particular product.

I had congestion around the chin area; bumpy skin/blackheads which was deep in the pores and nothing, I mean nothing would shift it until I continually used this product. I purchased this product a good few months back now, probably the beginning of the year and never really stuck to using it as I couldn't see a difference in my skin. Anyway fast forward to 2 weeks ago or so and this congestion really started to bother me as I catched a glimpse of myself in a tesco mirror, my chin just looked vile and bumpy even though I had no spots the problem was deep under the skin. Thats when I whipped out the BHA known best for exfoliating deep under the skin surface to fight stubborn blemishes and blackheads. I persisted with this liquid constantly every night for around 2 weeks, maybe less and now I am happy to say I'm absolutely thrilled with my skin, the bumps have disappeared drastically..I can't even see them now, my skin is so smooth. The liquid also helps fade those pesky red marks that a spot leaves behind (with a little help from my Bio Oil)

So if you suffer with congested skin then I seriously recommend looking at Paula's Choice exfoliant range (BHA/AHA) I know it's pricey but definitely worth every single penny in my opinion.

Tip: Don't give up using it after a week or so if you can't see a difference, let it work it's magic.

Origins out of trouble 10 minute mask review

Hey guys, apologies for being an awful blogger recently I just haven't had the motivation to blog really and with these dark nights dawning in it's harder to take a decent picture with the lighting.

Anyway here we have Origins out of trouble 10 minute mask to rescue problem skin, I don't have acne but do suffer from cystic spots now and again in the chin area and when these horrible buggers decide to pop up they are a NIGHTMARE to clear up so I wanted something to use once a week or so to keep those nasty buggers away.

The consistency of the mask is really thick, which I like as it's easy to spread around the face. Now onto the smell...this is where some people complain saying it smells too strong etc but I actually quite like it, it smells "medical" so it smells like it's going to actually work.

I spread this over my face and leave on for 10 mins or so, (some others say it works fantastic just as a spot treatment also) it feels a little tingly once applied so no need to worry. Once I've left it on for a few minutes I then soak a muslin cloth in hot water and then remove.

After I've removed the mask I can notice a difference in the appearance of my skin, it looks brighter and calms down the redness from the spots.

The mask retails for £19, which I know might seem rather expensive but trust me a little goes a long way and will last you ages.

False Lashes ♥

Quick post for a site recommendation buyeyelashes.co.uk which was mentioned on Twitter by one of the makeup artists (Lyndsey Harrison) who's working on the girls of The Only Way Is Essex.

Lyndsey mentioned that she used the Red Cherry lashes #40 and #101 in particular on the TOWIE girls so thought I'd check it out.

This site is amazing, speedy delivery and so cheap, I paid £2-£4 for each set, all the lashes are extremely good quality (I've worn the top 2 several of times and still have lots of wear out of them)

So if your after cheap/good quality lashes then I suggest you pop over to the site and take a look.

(I use the Duo lash glue which I purchased from eBay for £5)

Another hair care post from me and thought I'd share with you my favourite shampoo, it's the Kérastase resistance bain de force shampoo which I absolutely love!

As expected, from regular use of heat; straightening, blowdrying and colouring it's going to take toll on the appearance/strength of your hair that's why using a strengthening shampoo/treatment is essential for your hair.

With me having very long hair and straightening it on a daily basis I like to keep it in tip top condition and really take care of my locks, that's why I'm introducing you to my favourite shampoo. I've been using this now for...god knows how long...maybe 1/2 years and can honestly say that it's definitely improved the condition/look of my hair. With every use it leaves my hair feeling much more stronger/healthier and keeps away those split ends that everyone dreads which is why I couldn't recommend it enough.

I purchase this online for around £11-13 for 250ml depending which site you order from, which I know your probably thinking it's too expensive for a shampoo but if it works and can see a difference from every use then I couldn't care less about the price.

Last week amazing breast cancer patients and fundraisers came to QVC to strut their stuff at the charity fundraising fashion show event. They modelled clothes designed by fashion designers who suffer from the disease to raise as much money as possible for the cause.

If you didn't know I'm addicted to any hair products that claim to make your hair "stronger/healthier" having long hair it's more prone to getting dry so when I got asked if I would like to review the newest product from the John Frieda Frizz Ease range I happily agreed.

"Vitamin infused leave in conditioner nourishes and detangles dry, damaged strands to help hair resist breakage and feel silky-smooth. With heat protectant. Safe for colour treated hair"

Being rather lazy the past few weeks I was blowdrying my hair, (something I never do) instead of letting it dry naturally as a result I was greeted with nice dry hair...not! So as instructed, I sprayed liberally throughout clean, damp hair. As it's a leave in conditioner theres no need to wash out afterwards which I like as it can be left in to work it's magic.

First thing you notice when you spray is the smell, it's gorgeous, leaves no greasy residue behind and also doesn't weigh the hair down like some treatments I've used.

I've been using this for a few weeks now (in conjunction with my dearly beloved Kerastase Bain De Force, review coming soon) and can happily say I no longer have horrible dry hair, instead it's mega soft and looks extremely healthy. If your looking for a little hair pick me up then I'd recommend using the John Frieda Daily Miracle Treatment, trust me you don't need an expensive treatment to care for your hair I've tried lots and wasted lots of money on the way.

What I say:
I purchased this foundation a few weeks ago so I think it's time to share my thoughts with you. I read a few reviews on the blogs about this foundation so thought I'd put my boots advantage points to some use, I went for the shade number 35 sand which is a pretty good match but will purchase it in Gold so I can mix the colours for when I'm tanning.

It reminds me of Estee Lauder's double wear max which you can read my review on here in terms of coverage, Vichy Dermablend is much more easier to blend though in my opinion and lasts longer. I squeeze a tiny blob onto my hand and stipple/blend over my face for a natural, flawless finish, considering it's a full coverage foundation it's extremely light on the skin and looks so natural. I have combo/oily skin and have no problem with it's lasting power, I goto work for 9hrs and don't have to worry about touching up in the day like I do with usual foundations.

Would I recommend? 100% if your looking for a full/natural/long lasting coverage then I think this will be the foundation for you and only costs £15.50 for 30ml from Boots (you can also purchase online) which I think is reasonably priced considering the amount you need to cover your whole face. I think I've found my HG foundation!

What I say:
As you are probably aware Lauren Goodger from The only way is Essex bought out a tanning range a while back now and had to try it out obviously.

First impressions; the packaging looks awfully cheap and not pretty at all, but I guess it's what counts on the inside right?

Don't let the horrible packaging put you off because I must say this tan is amaziiiiing. At first I didn't get along with this tan at all, twice I tried it out and went patchy and horrible but then I gave it another chance and so glad I did. Moisturising a few days before is definitely the key.

Anyway, I pumped a few blobs of the tan onto my mitt and was greeted with a dark brown lotion, lovely! The consistency of the tan is perfect, not too runny/sticky nor impossible to rub in. I then began rubbing the tan onto my skin in circular motions from head to toe. After finishing my whole body I had the perfect dark, golden bronze tan which develops into a more darker colour as the day goes on. When I first applied it I was going out on the night so didn't have time to wash off the guide colour but it wasn't a problem, I didn't have patchy legs from several drinks being spilled on me..phew! So it also works amazing as an instant tan if your in a rush and need to go out. Lasting power? lasted around 5/6 days which I think is good considering I showered everyday.

Price £15.95 but you can purchase the tanning kit for £20 instead of £34 which I think is mega cheap.

St Moriz Tanning Lotion...

What I say:
If your a regular reader of my blog then you must know how much I LOVE fake tan, and especially how much I love St Moriz fake tan in particular (voted my no1 fake tan here) so when I heard they was releasing it in a lotion form I was very excited to try it out but unfortunately couldn't find it in my local Savers so a lovely PR lady aimee emailed me asking if I would like to try it out as she read my previous review on the mousse.

Soon as the postman greeted me with the parcel I was rather excited to try it out, that night I slathered on the lotion with the St Moriz tanning mitt and began applying it to my body (top to bottom, circular motions, you know how it goes) instantly the golden brown colour guide starts to develop showing you exactly where you've applied it so not to worry about any streaking etc. After applying I like to leave it on over night just so it can develop for a little longer! Then in the morning, take a shower to wash off the guide colour, don't worry the tan won't fade it will leave you with a better colour.

How does it compare to the mousse? Well I don't see a drastic difference from the lotion to the mousse if I'm honest with you, some people complained that the lotion isn't as dark which I have to agree with a teeny bit..theres not much of a big difference though. But apart from that theres no difference at all, some find mousse easier to apply (I prefer mousse, in this anyway) than lotions but it doesn't bother me aslong as I have a dark golden tan at the end I'm a happy girl.

Lotion retails for £2.99, depending where you purchase. I get mine from Savers, theres various online stores and I've also seen it selling in Morrisons now too.

P.S St Moriz if your reading, PLEASEEE make an even mega darker tan.

With the latest celebrity trend towards beautiful & "bootilicious" bottoms, it seems unbelievable that a recent survey conducted by the skincare experts for the Jergens Naturals brand showed that barely half of the british women who moisturise their faces give their bum no attention at all;

- 4009 women were surveyed, of those 3453 moisturised their face (85%) and of those 1954 moisturised their bum (57%)

What I say:

I admit I rarely, well hardly ever moisturise my body unless I fake tan..even then I only moisturise the dry patches (elbows, knees, feet, hands) unless I'm not being lazy. Main reasons for this is I HATE the feel of greasy skin, moisturiser that hasn't sunk in properly and my skin is mega sticky..ugh!!

Anyhow, after showering I thought I'd give it a whirl..first instincts the smell is absolutely divine..I'm not sure how to explain it. The consistency is perfect too, not too runny nor too thick so it makes the application easier to rub in and absorbs almost immediately and works a dream on my dry elbows.

Overall I'd definitely recommend the Jergens Naturals moisturisers and certainly going to moisturise on a regular basis now I don't have to wait for it to sink in, no more greasy/sticky body for me thank god!

Liz Earle sheer skin tint...

Hey guys, I don't know if you remember but back in July I posted about a new Liz Earle make up product that was going to be released in September (8th to be precise), back then I didn't have much information about the new skin tint or what it was going to be like but now I've finally got my hands on it and can share my thoughts with you...

The Liz Earle sheer skin tint comes in 3 shades: bare (light), beige (med) and beach (med-dark) I opted for the beige shade.

I've never tried a "tinted moisturiser" before so this would be a first, the product itself is creamy but when blended into the skin its very lightweight, dewy and has a noticeable radiant finish which literally looks like skin but better! I've never been the one for a light coverage, always medium because lets face it..I don't have perfect skin and I feel lighter coverages you need good skin to carry it off.

All in all I think this product is really good if you like more of a lighter/natural coverage but unfortunately it isn't for me and I won't be repurchasing when I've used it up just because I like more of a medium coverage.

I can't remember where I first heard/read about this foundation but I started reading reviews and watching youtube videos about it and knew I had to try it out, it made everyones skin look absolutely FLAWLESS in the pics/vids I saw.

Anyway, I purchased it online from Debenhams for £25.50 which at first I thought was rather expensive for a foundation until I tried it out...

Choosing the correct shade was a problem, I didn't have a clue what shade to go for and online swatches weren't much help but I bit the bullet and decided on num 03 creamy vanilla, perfect match for when my tan was fading but not quite dark enough for when I have a tan.

Described as a full coverage foundation which I agree with, you need the tiniest bit to cover your whole face seriously it's amazing, really lightweight and doesn't feel thick or cakey on your skin at all! I have oily/combination skin and has amazing lasting power, don't have to touch up during the day. The only thing I don't like about this foundation (or foundation in general) is the SPF and how it washes you out in pics..apart from that it's the best foundation I've ever tried and would definitely recommend it to people who's after a lightweight full coverage foundation.

Recently I went on holiday and needed a new face wash/cleanser..I was using Liz Earle but wanted something cheaper to take away with me. Whilst browsing my local Wilkinson's store I spotted this Neutrogena wash for around £4 I've used Neutrogena in the past and never had any problems with it so I thought I'd try out this new wash.

I use this in conjunction with my Clarisonic so it lathers up really nicely and obviously has a grapefruit smell which I don't find overwhelming at all, rather refreshing actually! It leaves my skin extremely soft afterwards, some people complained that it left their skin feeling abit tight but I don't have this problem at all..but I do have oily skin. Does it help eliminate spots/blackheads? For me..yes, I haven't had a spot in absolutely ages thats why I love it so much and for £4 something I can't complain at all..will definitely be re-purchasing and can't see me using anything else either for a long long time.

What I say:

I'd first read about this tool/gadget sometime last year, I'm not too sure what was said about it exactly but I know there was a big hype about it and I knew that I had to have it. I purchased this from an American website and I paid around $90 which converts to around £55..cheap compared to it's £120 price tag in the UK.

I use this in conjunction with my Liz Earle cleanse and polish, night time only as I don't really need to use it in the morning. I distribute the cleanse and polish over my face, massage in and then use my clarisonic in circular motions over my face (it'll tell you when it's finished by vibrating) and then get my muslin cloth and take off any residue left over by the cleanser then rinse, simple!

Now some of you are probably eager to know if it does as it promises and the answer is no, well not for me anyway and I've read reviews on makeup alley saying it didn't do anything for them either. It didn't help reduce my oily areas, still got an oily t-zone, didn't reduce any break outs. I'm not sure about fine lines/wrinkles because I have neither but I can't see it reducing them, I thought it would've evened my skin tone on my chin out but I didn't see any changes. Don't get me wrong it's nice to cleanse with and gets rid of any makeup left on your face after taking it off with a wipe but Liz Earle's Cleanse & Polish does exactly the same for £13 or even any other old cleanser used with a muslin cloth.

Would I recommend?
Definitely not, save your money and use your £120 wisely.

What I say:

As usual I've exfoliated and moisturised before putting on any tan to avoid fake tan disasters. Two pumps of the mousse onto the mitt and I started from top to bottom.

The application is very simple, it took me around 10mins to do my whole body and no signs of streaks/patches as the lovely golden brown guide colour shows you exactly where you've applied it.

I must say for how cheap it is (£2.99) this is definately my number one with Xen Tan following up second. I love how it leaves me looking sunkissed and bronzed with no sign of me looking like I've just been "tangoed". As promised it dries instantly so you don't have to wait around to get dressed after applying, it also mentions it as a long lasting tan which I can vouch for it lasts on me for around 1 week+ and when it does start to fade, it fades evenly and not bits of tan left on your body here and there.

I purchased this bottle from my local Savers store, if you don't have one around then I've definately saw it on numerous websites. I've also read that theres now a lotion version which I'm keen to try, anyone tried this? how do you rate it to the mousse?

Sudocrem: skin care must have?

Sudocrem is usually known to be in a grey, round tub and normally used by mothers for their babies.

Few months back I heard there was a tube being released, I've never saw it though when I've been shopping so when I got asked if I would like to be sent the tube I agreed as I thought it would be better in a tube than in a tub.

Sudocrem is very versatile and can be used for many skin complaints but the only thing I used it for was dreaded spots, I felt sudocrem really reduced the size of the spots and calmed down any redness and in a few days they would disappear..that was using the tub! Since I was using the tube I noticed it wasn't doing it's job anymore and thought that my skin must've got used to it and no longer worked thats when I read on another blog that apparently the tube is different to the tub?!

I later found out that the tube doesn't have a medical license like the tub has and that theres a couple of differences on the ingredients side but that the product is pretty much the same. Anyway to cut the review short I shall be sticking to the trusty tub for any skin problems in the future.

What I say:

Before applying fake tan I always exfoliate/moisturise just to make sure it doesn't stick to any dry patches I may have. I applied with the St Tropez tanning mitt which made a difference to my usual Superdrug one, application was smooth/velvety and glided onto my skin without a problem.

I covered my whole body in the tan and the guide colour was a lovely light golden brown, it says on the bottle to leave to dry for 60 secs before getting dressed. Next morning I washed off the guide colour and my skin revealed a lovely, light golden brown tan..just like I'd caught abit of a sun tan.

This product is best suited if your new to tanning or don't want a really dark tan, now I love my tan to be dark..darker the better but if your looking for something a little more natural then I definately would recommend this tan to you.

What I say:

To be honest I hadn't read many reviews about this certain product so when I had the chance to review it I thought it'd be a challenge..especially with my big, curly frizzy hair!

You must use on damp or wet hair, so I washed my hair and towel dried a little then sprayed the spray evenly through my hair then combed through to make sure the product was distributed evenly. I then blow dried my hair.

After all my hair was dry I ran my fingers through it and it felt disgusting, sticky and just generally ughh! I didn't have time to wash again so then I just proceeded to straighten it and hope for the best. It tells you on the bottle to straighten your hair in sections, which I do anyway. Anyhow..half to an hour later my hair was fully straightened and I was expecting it to feel disgusting still but I was shocked..my hair was soft smooth and looked extremely silky..impressive.

The big test was the next 2 days..will my hair stay straight/soft as it did when on first used it..well the night I used it was on a night out where usually my hair will go frizzy and have a few kinks round the front and when I stumbled in early hours of the morning my hair wasn't out of place not one kink in sight.

The next day after I slept on it I noticed a little kink round the front but nothing that made me want whip the straighteners out..and day 3? Hair was still rather straight, a few kinks at the ends, again nothing that really bothered me.

Overall I'm really impressed with this product and would recommend to anyone that can't be bothered to straighten their hair everyday. Can be purchased from Boots/Superdrug..not sure about supermarkets and retails for around £5.99-£6.99.

I just wanted to do a very quick post about this subject...does anyone else get left with an annoying red marks that takes AGES to shift after a spot, I always seem to get it around my chin area and can honestly say I never ever pick at a spot so it gets me down that I can't wear makeup because my stupid chin area!

Has anyone found anything that helps to stop the red mark from preventing? Certain products i.e. face washes/creams/moisturisers etc

I've used a few but Im still open to all answers :)

Heat Protectant: Do you / Don't you?

Most of us have been using hair straighteners for a good few years now..knowing that too much heat can damage your hair but still continue to straighten/dry/curl..for me I couldn't live without my straighteners my natural hair is..big, curly, and rather frizzy.

Now theres lots and lots of products on the market today specially designed for heat damaged hair or even to protect your hair from heat damage..i.e. heat protectant spray.

My question is do you use it and do you think it really makes a difference? Reason I'm asking is because I know a few people who doesn't use it at all and use hair tools daily without using anything to protect their hair at all and I must say their hair is perfect condition.

What heat protectant do YOU use and would you recommend it to others?

I was asked to simply come up with the hottest ASOS outfit I can (upto the value of £100)

I absolutely love this dress, as I think it looks very sophisticated and looks more expensive then it really is..reminds me of Herve Leger bandage style dresses.

Umm I haven't a clue where to start..well firstly it smells like cherry bakewells, which I can't stand but I don't mind the smell of this. Application wise, the product comes out a dark brown colour which is easier for application as you can see which parts you've applied it to and if theres any patches/streaks.

Now what Famous Dave that is streak free is a total lie, the application of this is absolutely vile!! I applied this with a tanning mitt, which I always use to apply my Xen Tan so it def wasn't the mitt that was causing the big patchy/streaky mess on my body..I had to rub loads on to try and disguise I had a streaky body. (Also I always make sure I exfoliate and moisturise the day before I want to tan) Don't even get me started how it left my fingers/knuckles looking..VOM!

Would I recommend?

Well no, but then some other people absolutely love this so Im a bit pee'd off it didn't work for me. I def won't be purchasing again..waste of £20 down the drain, maybe the lotion is better which I wish I would've purchased but I ain't gonna be forking out more £££ for it to be crap like the mousse! I'll stick to good ol Xen Tan in the future.

What I say:
Well I'm always a bit dubious when it comes to using new skin care because I have extremely sensitive skin and if something doesn't work for me then BAM spots galore, which isn't very nice at all so I use to always stick to my clinique facial wash. Now don't get me wrong I love Clinique but always read/heard people raving about Liz Earle's Cleanse & Polish and how it removed make-up and left skin feeling extremely clean!

So I decided to bite the bullet and put it an order on the Liz Earle site, the 100ml cost me £9.50 as the site was offering a promotion at the time and it came with 1 or 2 muslin cloths I really can't remember..also I had a free sample of the toner which is lovely!

Anyway how do I use it? Well I like to take my makeup off with a wipe first, doing it this way gets ALL of my makeup off! I then dispense 1 pump of the cleanser onto my hand and then rub onto my face (make sure your face is dry) and then carry on for about a minute before I soak the muslin cloth in hot water, rinse it out and then gently rubbing off the cleanser in a circular motion.

Thats when the Instant skin boost tonic comes in, unlike other toners which have a strong chemical smell to them this one smells lovely. I just use a bit on a cotton pad a swipe over my face, which then leaves my skin feeling extremely clean and refreshed. Would I buy the full size? Well I'll be rather disappointed when the sample comes to an end so we shall see.

Would I recommend? Most definately, it's really great value for money as it lasts a long time..I'd definately like to get my hands on the full size version of the toner and try the moisturiser out also.

What I say:
Right..what can I say I love foundations, I've always wanted to try MACs face & body years ago but never got round to purchasing it so I decided to go along and make an order after reading a few positive reviews.

I totally guessed my shade, not really a good idea but I decided on C3 as I still have a lil bit of a tan from holiday. Luckily C3 is absolutely perfect :)

It's a water based foundation so the consistency is runny, not too runny though! I apply this with my Louise Young foundation brush (LY34) and apply it all over my face, now this foundation is absolutely fantastic if you don't like to wear foundation or appear that your wearing any..the coverage is very sheer although people said you can build it to a more med coverage with 2 layers, I don't think it makes a difference tbh..so if you have really problematic skin I wouldn't recommend, I do have a spot scar on my chin but with a little concealer it covers nicely. The finish is a beautiful dewy finish and really doesn't look like your wearing anything on your face at all.

Whats the staying power like? It stays pretty well on my oily skin, I have to touch up after about 4 hrs but I don't mind because I love the look of it so much..I know I said I wasn't keen a few posts down but now I've tried it out properly and been wearing it every day since I purchased it I love it ♥

So heres a teeny lil haul I thought I'd share with you..I did buy some new booties aswell but expect them in a outfit post over the weekend :)

Of royalty (cremesheen) described on the mac site as a creamy blue pink, see swatch below followed with a comparison with viva glam gaga on the bottom

As you can see of royalty is a much lighter and more wearable than the gaga lippie, I love it..def my fave (will post a lip swatch sometime soon)

MAC face & body I saw quite a few people "raving" about this particular foundation so thought I'd try it out for myself and first impressions I'm not overly keen to be honest..it's really sheer so you need amazing skin to be able to pull this off to wear it alone (it doesn't even cover my 2 light marks left over from spots!) some said the coverage could be buildable to a more medium coverage but I don't think that works unless you slap loads on..review to come soon

What I say..

You could say I’m a fake tan virgin, well apart from a disastrous start with St Moriz sometime last year which put me off fake tan completely! I’m very pale so having a beautiful tan on the cold miserable days in the UK would make me feel so much better :)

So how did I apply it? Well the day before I prepped my skin using Xen-Tan body scrub to make sure my skin was looking and feeling good before I applied the tan the day after (also moisturised dry areas i.e. elbows/knees and ankles) I applied the tan the day after before I jumped into bed, firstly the one thing I noticed was the smell of the tan, it smells delicious…wanted to eat my arm off whilst it was developing. The first time I applied it, I applied with bare hands, now it tells you to wash your hands after every application which I did but still ended up with orange palms (good job I was going to bed eh) anyway I applied it all over my face/body and went to sleep, when I woke up the next day I was surprised to see the guide colour was a lovely golden colour and no hints of orange-ness in sight although I was a little streaky around the feet area, when I showered it wasn’t as dark but still was a light golden brown and my palms turned a normal colour again.

Second time I applied I used a tanning mitt from Superdrug which I really recommend as I was streak free and the tan was much more easier to apply, overall I really rate this tan and will be definitely purchasing again when I run out, although I might purchase the Dark Lotion next time to try that out.

My thoughts..

After reading numerous blog posts on these irons I wanted to get my hands on some, basically because how much they compared to GHDs but with the controllable heat settings…just what I needed.

Right, so a little info about my hair..my hair is naturally curly, but with frizz! It’s very thick and very long so takes around an hour to straighten (with GHDs) I don’t blow dry so I let it dry naturally, I wash it..let it dry..straighten the next day. I received the “wide iron” perfect for thick hair like mine and I was hoping that it would half the time of straightening. I parted my hair into sections and turned on the iron to find my desired heat setting (I use 150°) which heated up quite fast, about same time as GHDs and then I got started (you all know how to straighten hair right?)..I find it such a chore straightening hair so I was pleased when it took just around 45mins to do the whole lot :] although I did find it did snag my hair in some places whereas GHDs doesn’t, but some people haven’t experienced this.

Overall I’m a very happy lady, not only did they give me the same results as my GHDs but gave me less damage whilst they worked their magic! Infact my GHDs have now been put back in their box and will eventually be taken out again..but not just yet ;]

What I say:

Who would think this little bottle of greasy oil would be a staple* in most peoples skin regime eh?? Well I can tell you it's certainly a staple in mine, first off I use a make up wipe to remove any make up that I have on (you don't have to do this, but I like to know all of my makeup has gone) I then shake a generous amount into my hands and rub it all onto my face in circular motions, after I've done that I then wet my hands and again, massage over..this should then create a milky emulsion which I then wash off and follow with my clinique 3 step (minus the moisturiser) and what do we have? A squeaky clean make up free face with no traces whatsoever :)

This has a gorgeous scent to it aswell which I can't describe, the only downside to this and why I've knocked a point off it because it has no pump applicator, it isn't really a problem but I reckon a pump would be so much better. The price varies depending where you purcahse, I think it's cheaper online though..I think this cost me like 15-20£ mark but as lasted me well over a year as you need the tiniest bit.

*Cleansing oils aren't a must have in peoples regimes..I just like to use it at night time to make sure every trace of makeup comes off and my face is clean.

Yes a Bobbi Brown blusher, I've never ever tried anything from BB before but loved the look of the blush colours so decided to order and try one out. The colour that caught my eye was this blush in Apricot..

How do I use it?

After my hair as been towel dried, I section my hair into two pieces like I would put it in two piggy tails and use two pumps on each section and distribute it through my hair evenly, concentrating more on the ends where my hair is most likely to get damaged the most. The product itself is quite runny but that makes it better to apply and it smells lovely.

What I say:

My hair is really long and theres no way I could live without my beloved GHDs, we all know no matter how much heat protectant you use your still going to damage your hair, so even though I treat my hair with deep conditioning treatments/heat protectants I thought a leave in treatment needed to be fitted into my hair care routine. Thats when I came across the Redken Anti-Snap. I purchased this from HQ hair for around £15, you can also buy off lookfantastic at £13 but whenever I've bought it off HQ hair I've always had a discount so worked out cheaper than buying off the other site.

I absolutely love this and I think it's definately improved the condition of my hair leaving it soft/shiney and split end free. I'll carry on using it as long as I shall live and another thumbs up is how much a bottle lasts, I still haven't finished my bottle yet but ordered another to take advantage of a discount.

Contour Brush

I was contemplating on getting the MAC 138 brush for contouring but priced at a hefty £35 (I think) I thought I'd pass on it and search around to see if I could find anything else at a reasonable price. Thats when I came across the Sonia Kashuk brushes off Space NK and priced at £5.50 I couldn't pass on it.

So when they came I was mega excited to try them out, the contour brush is small..but absolutely perfect for creating those "chiseled cheekbone"s as it fit right underneath the cheekbone, I'd definately recommend this and for £5.50 it's a bargain!

Eyeliner Brush

The bristles on this are fairly long, longer than your normal eyeliner brush and it's got a flat end, another thumbs up for this brush.

Synthetic Flat Top Brush

A brush that can be used for different purposes like blush/creme blush and foundation.

I've only ever applied my blush with it and must say it applies just the right amount to the apple of my cheeks and blends so easily and smoothly, the hairs on this brush is so soft. Unfortunately I think it's sold out online now.

Sonia Kashuk Brushes:

I received these today after ordering them off Space Nk when I noticed a huge reduction in the sale section..I haven't tried these out yet but will definately let you know what I think of them. I got..contour brush (top) eyeliner brush and a flat top brush which I s'pose you can use for anything, I don't know what I'll use this for yet.

I received the MAC bits ages ago but went for Angel Lipstick and underage lipglass.

I never owned Angel but it seemed a very popular lippie, it's very similiar to another MAC lipstick I own..I think it's Snob, not sure though.

I haven't really worn Underage, has anyone got a nice combo with this gloss + another lippie? Leave a comment if so :)

And last we have Benefits Powderazzi, I received this way back In Dec from ASOS sale, the colour I use the most is the top one to contour..I have no idea what colour it is? I've only worn Coralista once and found nothing on my cheeks by the end of the day..I'll have another bash at wearing this another time.

What I say:
I love it! I decided to buy it because I love the diorskin nude but it was crap staying power with my oily t-zone...ohh and that it also had 10% off on debenhams. I've actually been wearing it everytime I do my makeup because it goes on so smooth and literally looks flawless with my MAC skinfinish sweeped over :)

Does it keep my skin flawless and radiant hour after hour? Actually it does but I do have to touch up after about 4hrs at work on the t-zone, strangely I don't have this problem though when Im on a night out..strange!

This is one of my fave foundations, def overtook revlon colorstay and shall keep purchasing this as I just love the finish and how it makes my skin look..flawless! I'd recommend it to anyone.

Oh forgot to say, it's a very light liquid but gives a medium coverage. Hope this helped.

So I know this is a little early but I've been hopless lately and I know I won't be bothered to do it when it comes round to it.

3 products I've been using on a daily basis for months now (well 'cept for the Dior foundation because it's a new one)

This foundation is a new love, and it's much better than the colorstay I was using..gives off a better finish and it blends beautifully :)

I'd really recommend it over the Diorskin Nude which doesn't stay on my skin that long.

Illamasqua Katie Blush - I absolutely love this blush one of my new faves that I've been reaching for everyday since I bought it, def recommend ♥

Saint Germain - I've never looked at this lippie before but when I was couped up in bed with swiney I thought I'd put a MAC order in. When I first used it I had no make up on and it just looked..eugh but I wore it last night and l o v e it!

Loverush - In the pic it looks dark/browny color but MAC describes it as a faded burgundy, which it is! I love this but Im finding it really hard to blend for some reason.

Hey guys so I'm sure some of you are aware that quite a few of us beauty bloggers/youtubers was invited down to the L'oreal Head Quarters in Hammersmith, London yesterday for a beauty event - MAYBELLINE.

Right; so I planned on meeting Nic beforehand at Euston where Sarah, Phoebe and Emma also joined us to head over to Oxford St (Selfridges) for abit of shopping, well 3hrs at the makeup counters to be precise!

And I got:

A gorgeous flush of light pink and a YSL Rouge Volupte in n019..FINALLY after keeping checking various websites to see if they had it yet..♥ this and if you don't own a rouge volupte lipstick SHAME ON YOU aha no seriously they are amazing..just glides on beautifully, I now own 2 of these pretty things :)

After Selfridges we was running out of time so had to catch the tube to Hammersmith where the event was being held...

Once we got to L'oreal we got greeted by the lovely Natalie and got showed to where we had to go, which we then stuffed our faces with yummy cakes and sandwichs..mmm! Right so then we all sat down and listened to the lovely ladies do a presentation on Maybelline - brand history - individual products (face, eyes lips etc) and the latest products which are...

Ohh and ever wandered how Maybelline got the name? Well..there was a lady named Maybel who was engaged and her fiancee went off with another woman. So of course Maybel wanted to wow him and win him back, thats when she turned to her brother who was a pharmacist and he came up with the idea of mixing a bit of coal with vaseline to darken her eyelashes and make her eyes stand out..which he then created mascara :) mabel + vaseline = MAYBELLINE

Winter is creeping upon us..

Therefore I decided my leather biker jacket won't be very practical soon and need something that will keep me warm in the dreaded winter months so I bought this baby after spotting it instore a few weeks back:

The Body Shop Event..+

Hey guys, as some of you know I was lucky enough to be invited to my first ever bloggers event - The Body Shop which was held at Sketch in London.

Thank you Natalie for organising such a great day :)

I met up with Olivia beforehand where we catched the train into London, and also met some others at Euston train station which then led us to a bit of shopping in Selfridges.

Anyhow onto the event...we arrived at Sketch to be greeted with Champagne and yummy cakes :) we then had a presentation about the body shop, about their new makeup/skincare range and also their new perfume..Love Etc...

Then Chase Aston (makeup artist for TBS) showed us how to create 2 looks; wearable daytime smokey eye & 80's look!

Before we left we was given a big goodie bag which also included new products from the Pearlescents range (♥ blush trios)

I've started to play around with some of the skincare products so expect a review at a later date to find out how my skin liked it etc..if your interested :)

And also reviews of the makeup products..

It was really nice to meet some people and hopefully get to see familiar/new faces at the next event :)

& MAC creme cup lipstick which I really like..shame about the shit service I received from the SA..moody cow!
